Our Story
For too long, healthcare data has been controlled by systems that serve the management and compliance, not the patient.
Data is trapped in outdated platforms, siloed between organisations, and buried under layers of compliance red tape. The people who actually need it—patients and the care staff who support them—are left navigating a broken system designed for management and compliance, not for care.
A Vision for Change
Health Connect was built on a simple but radical idea:
“Health data should belong to the people it’s about.”
True healthcare democracy means giving individuals control over their own health and well-being data, enabling them to make informed decisions and receive the best possible and personalised care.
This isn’t just about technology. It’s about power and putting it back where it belongs.
From the Frontlines of Healthcare to the Frontlines of Change
Dr. Devan Moodley has seen firsthand how outdated systems fail both care staff and patients.
From working as a doctor in the remote rural villages of South Africa, where access to quality healthcare was a daily struggle, to leading care organisations in the UK, where compliance burdens crush staff morale—he’s witnessed the same problem everywhere: technology systems that make you react, rather than enable you to act.
- Carers spend 20 minutes filling out paperwork instead of comforting a distressed resident
- Exhausted nurses clicking through five different systems just to find a patient’s history
- Families begging for answers while staff scrambled to pull up the right records.
This has to change.
Health Connect: Fixing What’s Broken
The first step in our mission is simple: fix care data, in the care sector, where outdated, reactive Care Management Systems have failed the most vulnerable.
These systems focus on endless forms, soulless task lists, and constant “management” of incidents, risks, and care plans. Within these systems, data exists in silos—fragmented, outdated, and impossible to use effectively. Health Connect brings it all together, creating a unified, intelligent system that finally works for the people who need it most.
That means:
✅ Care staff spend less time on admin and more time actually caring.
✅ Patients get the right support, at the right time—before problems become crises.
✅ Care becomes truly patient-centred, not compliance-driven.
Patient-centred Care Intelligence, Not Box-Ticking Tech
The question we ask ourselves from top down every day, in every product conversation: “How can we make that truly patient-centred, not another button or tick box or form?”
Health Connect is rewriting the rules. Our AI-powered Care Intelligence System automates admin, cuts through compliance clutter, and puts caregivers back where they belong—at the bedside.
We don’t believe in technology for technology’s sake. Every feature we build is designed to make care faster, safer, and more human.
We build “this city” on Diverse Minds
Get our reference?
It might not be Rock and Roll, but it’s definitely something magical. Dare we say that our team is proudly the most diverse you can find on this planet? Yes, we dare!
We truly believe the diversity of cultures, languages, minds and skills makes us the avengers of healthcare tech. Healthcare is for everyone, not just those who can afford it.
- It’s our passion for the mission that unites us.
- It’s our open-mindedness that rewrites and trains our brains.
- It’s the lack of geographical borders that explodes our creativity and ambition.
If you’re reading this and thinking, I want some of that, we always want to hear from you.
Ruth Kyle
The Architect of Impact (COO)
Ruth is a master of transformation, turning big ideas into reality. Ruth’s led the operation of the Co-op Group, built and transformed a startup from early product development to operationally excellent. But all the professionals achievements aside, healthcare for Ruth is close to heart. It’s her family members in the Home Health sector.
That’s why at Health Connect, she’s on a mission to rebuild care from the ground up—putting people, not paperwork, first. Because in care, small fixes won’t cut it. It’s time for real change.
Tanya Tran
The GTM Disruptor – Head of Go-to-Market
Tanya takes disruptive tech to market—and makes it win. From proptech to mobility to manufacturing, she’s helped businesses scale from one funding stage to the next. But for Tanya, Health Connect isn’t just another growth play—it’s deeply personal. Growing up in Vietnam, personalised healthcare wasn’t even a concept. She watched her grandmother—who raised her—suffer allergic reactions to medications due to missing health records and medical errors. She’s seen firsthand how broken systems fail real people. Now, she’s leading the charge to make Health Connect the name that transforms care forever. Because when lives are at stake, good isn’t enough—it has to be life-changing.
Arpit Jacob
Captain Tech – CTO
Arpit was born to a family of doctors and grew up inside the medical school campus. Rollerskating across the hospital’s halls, little Arpit was used to seeing how healthcare impacted people’s lives. However, his obsession with computers and technology outweighed his family’s medical tradition. He rebelliously chose to study software engineering and become a developer right out of college. But his roots have always taken him back to healthcare, with his first ever project being a health insurance app. He took on the role of Health Connect CTO in 2020, spearheading our technology development. To Arpit, working on Health Connect’s pioneering healthcare AI is what gets him excited every day.
Dr Binu Alexander
The Medimind – Technical Product Lead
Binu’s journey, much like Arpit’s (Fun fact, they are childhood friends), began on a medical school compound, where he was born to a family of doctors. With medicine literally in his blood, he pursued becoming a doctor, working in clinical practice before starting a public health residency. But he soon realised technology could improve healthcare at scale. Binu shifted gears, building medical software for rural hospitals in India and concierge clinics in the U.S. Now, at Health Connect, Binu combines his clinical expertise with technical know-how, ensuring the platform truly understands the realities of patient care. For Binu, it’s not just about software — it’s about breaking the frontier of healthcare with AI and empowering care teams to deliver better outcomes with less stress.
The Care Champion – Customer Success Lead
Shelley ensures care organisations thrive with Health Connect. From onboarding to ongoing support, she’s the trusted guide for teams navigating change. But for Shelley, this role isn’t just about service—it’s personal. Having been in primary care for over 10 years, and she saw firsthand how overworked and overloaded the healthcare system is and how much the patients have to suffer due to a lack of timely access to care. Patients are not in control of their health and well-being status. Joining Health Connect means that she can work to bring the vision of accessibility to personalised care to solve the systemic problems she’s been witnessing. Her first step is to serve the care heroes by delivering a tech solution that helps take away the admin pain and compliance burden to empower them to do what they do best – Care.
