CareLineLive is a cloud-hosted home care management software platform, built to deliver more time to care. How and why it began
The idea for CareLineLive came from founder Josh Hough, born out of his personal experience with shortcomings in the care system. Having had a rare muscle condition as a patient, and then managing the care of his grandfather, Josh saw first-hand the frustration caused by disconnected systems, poor communication and overly burdensome paperwork. He resolved to build something different: a platform that would bring all stakeholders – carers, families, managers – into a single, simple, efficient system.

CareLineLive’s achievements
CareLineLive formally launched in 2018, though the roots date back earlier. Key milestones include: early prototype work (2012), seed investment and grants in 2017, expanding into Australia, acquiring complementary platforms (CareForIT and Ulysses in 2023).
CareLineLive has a deep understanding of standards and requirements from regulators such as CQC, Scotland’s Care Inspectorate, Care Inspectorate Wales and Northern Ireland’s RQIA. They comply with standards set by organisations such as the Professional Records Standards Body and NHS England and are an NHS Assured Solutions Provider of Digital Social Care Records, requiring compliance with an ever evolving set of functionality and cyber security standards.
To date, CareLineLive’s customers have benefited from increased efficiencies and value, with dramatic improvement in cash flow and increased revenues of up to 50%.
