Bide is a new simple to install and use bedside nighttime falls prevention device. Invented, designed and developed by experienced GP Dr Tom Adler, with input from users and carers, Bide sits on the bedside and detects when the user awakes. Bide then lights up and plays pre-recorded voice messages from a carer or loved-one encouraging the user to take their time and providing bespoke user-orientated reminders to stay safe. This in turn aims to prevent falls, reduce anxiety, and reassure users. With positive feedback from users and carers, we are now expanding our user base in the care home sector, domiciliary care setting and with individual users in their own homes. Bide has the capacity to support care providers by improving bed occupancy, freeing up care workers’ time, reducing need for locum staff, reducing complaints, supporting CQC rating, and enhancing care provider reputation.
